Sanasar

Sanasar is a famous hill spot located 19 kms west of Patnitop in Udhampur district of Jammu & Kashmir.

Totally exhausted by the busy lifestyle, all a person needs is a getaway where he can escape to a serene place rich with natural beauty , there can be no other place other than a hill station for one to find a calm and soothing environment where he lost in his own world and find some peace.

If you do not like being in a noisy hill station, crowded with tourists, Sanasar is the best place to be in. Sanasar is located 19 km west of Patnitop in Udhampur district of Jammu & Kashmir, Named after small local lakes- Sana and Sar.

At an altitude of 6700 ft, Sanasar is a picturesque cup shaped meadow, surrounded by coniferous trees and a lake in the center. The area is notable for its scenic views of mountain ranges including the Brammah Massif. It is a hub for adventure activities like paragliding, trekking and camping.

Most of the tourist spots in Jammu Region are rapidly losing its glory due to the apathy and negligence of government towards its maintenance and preservation. Whenever I have visited this beautiful place, I havent ever seen the lake clean.

One can compare this place with Khajiar in Himachal Pradesh; looks almost identical, almost same environment but the attitude of different state governments is clearly visible.

Sanasar is such a scenic and beautiful place, but due to negligence of Govt, this beautiful hill station eagerly awaiting attention. Even then I love visiting this place quite often because it offers me peace which no other nearby hill station does.
